A Resolution is a firm decision to do or not do something or a formal expression of opinion or intention agreed on. Every beginning, we tend to make resolutions of what we want to achieve and where we want to reach, but somehow these intentions do not come to pass.
Here is a list of 7 reasons why our New Year Resolutions fail:
- When you are not always specific in what you want to achieve and stick to the goals you want to attain. But it's important to stay to be specific and clearly state what we want to attain.
- If you have no clear and achievable objectives. In order to reach your goals, you must attempt to get to a place within your reach and realistic. This is when you won’t get overwhelmed, defeated, and stopped.
- If your resolutions are not long-term. This also means that we must think in the long term because it takes time and a lot of work to achieve what we want.
- When you stop in the midst of the process, instead keep on moving even if you face challenges and obstructions along the way. Failure does not always mean you failed, but a pause for us to rethink and begin afresh.
- When you have No workable plan that is within our control and your reach. A plan is a road map for life, most people, and students.
- When you don't have an accountability partner who can have a say in your life if things go wrong.
- When you are not clear of what you want to do. You must be clear in mind what you want to achieve in life.
